This Saturday to Sunday trip to Champagne combines festive Champagne tastings in Reims and visits of the golden fields and the prestigious cellars. Around the world, Champagne is synonymous with “celebration” and our group will be fêted in style!
o Depart Saturday late morning 11 am (so you don’t have to get up so early)
o Welcome lunch and drinks on the bus to Reims
o Visit local vineyards (through local connections)
o Tour the famous Veuve Clicquot cellar
o Free time to rest in hotel or shop
o Aperitif and tasting at a typical cellar in Reims center and dinner in a local upscale restaurant
o Night out all together in Reims
o Breakfast
o Guided visit of the city center and the famous cathedral
o Return to Paris arriving by 4PM
Saturday July 7th: PARIS/ REIMS
11h00 Meet and greet your fellow Meetup American Expats. Meeting point is on the steps of Opera Garnier (accessible via Metro stop Opéra, or RER A stop Auber).
13h30 Drop-off your luggage at the hotel conveniently located in the center of Reims
14h00 Visit local vineyard: depart to visit a local vineyard closely located to Reims, where you can discover first hand a local production while touring the cellars with the owner
15h30 Veuve-Clicquot! Proceed with a tour of both cellars to discover this world renown production and enjoy a Champagne tasting, biensur!
The spectacular Veuve Clicquot caves are situated in ancient Gallo-Romain quarries.
They will explain the history of Champagne (The fateful day when the monk Dom Pierre Pérignon discovered the technique for making sparkling wine, and, according to the myth, shouted out the window, “Come quickly, I am drinking the stars!”)
17h00 Return to the hotel/ free time: check-in and rest in preparation for the champagne-infused evening festivities…
19h00 Evening starter…: warm up the evening at a local “caviste” in the center of Reims who has a selection of champagnes especially picked for our group to taste with amuses bouche
20h30 Dinner at a restaurant favored by locals in the center of Reims
22h30 Night out in Reims: our local connections know the best bars. For the bravest, venture out to night clubs afterward!
Sunday July 8th: PARIS/ REIMS
  Breakfast: included with the hotel booking (served until 10 am)
12h00 Guided city tour of Reims: for those still “thirsty” for a cultural snapshot of the city
Visit the famous Gothic cathedral in Reims, an UNESCO World Heritage site over 800 years old, which was the coronation site for the kings of France. Follow this with an “art deco” walking tour of the city center
14h00 Depart: meeting point is Grand Hotel du Nord and arrive back in Paris by 16h
Basis of 30 people
Supplements for single room accomodation are an additional 47 Eur to the prices indicated (number of single rooms are limited and will be attributed on a first come first serve basis)

Advantageous group fares were negotiated until June 8th only!

Included :
- Transportation by bus: roundtrip Paris-Reims, (1h45 min) & welcome drinks and lunch
- Accommodation in twin rooms in 2* Grand Hotel du Nord (just recently renovated) in Reims city center, including breakfast on Sunday
- Dinner prix fixe menus: Saturday
- Guided visits of city center including the cathedral & art deco tour
- Transportation and visits of a local vineyard and Veuve Clicquot cellar establishment including champagne tastings
- Aperitif and 2 drinks at the local cellar in Reims to start the evening
Not included :
- Single room accommodations are available for an additional 47 Eur
- Additional drinks than those included in the prix fixe menu at lunch and dinner
- Drinks in bars & clubs after dinner on Saturday
